What is The Spa Level-R?

The Spa Level-R is a leveling platform for hot tubs that is made to withstand the weight demands of your hot tub and mother nature.

The components and processes listed below have been in use since the inception of The Spa Level-R and allow us to offer a lifetime warranty on our leveling platform.  We’re proud to say that after 19yrs the first leveling platform built is still sitting under a hot tub today.  

How Do We Make The Spa Level-R?

Cedar Shield:

One of the most important components of our leveling platform is the Cedarshield treatment. Once applied to our 2×4’s, Cedarshield soaks into the wood, seals the pores, hardening and strengthening it against rot, decay, splintering, and moisture damage, protecting it from the inside out. Cedarshield is safe to use around pets and children, and will not leach out into the environment or soil after it’s fully dried. We also exceed the manufacturers’ recommendations with the following steps:

• We allow the lumber to cure for a minimum of two weeks before using it in production 
• We treat both sides of our 2×4’s

This process was chosen for several reasons over pressure treated lumber.

• Pressure treated lumber does not seal the pores of the wood and prevent moisture
• Pressure treated lumber cannot be painted or stained for 60-90 days

Leveling Glides:

The backbone of our leveling platform.  Each leveling glide is rated for 4,000 lbs, zinc plated and fully adjustable. The zinc layer acts as a physical barrier that prevents water and oxygen from coming into contact with the base metal. 

Paint:

PPG “Breakthrough” is used to protect the wood and this was chosen for three reasons:

• Adhesion
• Durability
• Flexibility

T-Nuts:

The tee nuts are zinc plated and their “compression” design allows for a secure fit.

Lumber:

White Fur – Super Blue 2×4’s by Sinclair Forest Products make up the joists and corners of The Spa Level-R. These 2×4’s are possibly the highest grade studs anywhere in the world. 

Joist hangers:

We use galvanized Simpson joist hangers.

Fasteners:

The assembly of our platform consists of two different screws:

• Zinc plated truss head screws are used for mounting the joist hangers 
• Exterior screws that are zinc plated with an exterior polymer coating are used for the rest of the assembly
